Chincha Fire Station Rebuild

On August 15, 2007 the cities of Pisco, Ica, and Chincha Alta, Peru experienced an earthquake of an 8.0 magnitude. The quake lasted three minutes and killed 517 people and destroyed 57,000 homes. The fire station in the city of Chincha Alta completely collapsed. This is the only fire station available for a city of nearly 200,000 residents.

The firefighters are required to use their own finances and labor to re-construct the fire station. They've made minimal progress and they continue to be in need of help after two years of effort.

We are looking for people who have a heart for compassion, service and a desire to see the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ministry Opportunity

Our focus will be on helping the firefighters of Chincha Alta re-build their fire station and lives, to develop relationships in the community to show the love of Christ.

Come prepared to be flexible and with an openness to be used by God!

We are seeking individuals and church teams of 8-14 people to travel to Chincha, Peru to minister to the firefighters in a real and meaningful way.

This is a unique opportunity to reach out with the Gospel of Christ to a largely ignored people group, emergency response professionals. A group of individuals who we look to for help when things "go wrong".
